Art Bébé’s story is the story of humanity – not evolution but destiny. A brief exposition spells it out:
We came from Africa, from the crater. We evolved to ape, to human. Now it’s time for Art Bébé. Lash it to transcend it!
The conceit is that, transcendence is destiny, or that evolution can be seen as geared towards a destiny, evolution through destiny, if we like.
The Art Bébé narrative will pay homage to many of the superhero archetypes, stereotypes, and conventions of comic books past. The world needs a wake up call to save us from ourselves.
As super hero, Art Bébé should be seen as the savior archetype. She is classified as a biologically assisted artificial lifeform (BAAL). As savior, her role is that of the bridge to the machine and biologically augmented human – the transhuman. For this savior purpose, she adopts a modified version of the old Christian sign of the fish as her symbol, identified as the Lash.

In time, a peoples movement, under the Lash banner, forms behind Bébé, and comes to be known as the Bébé Movement. Within this movement Bébé also adopts the Anti-Lash – the savior symbol in reverse – to signify moral & ethical behavior not endorsed by the Bébé Movement.
